Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-04-20

Hum (“we”, “the app”) is built by Avalan Labs. We designed Hum to keep your family's data on your device. This policy describes what Hum collects, what it doesn't, and why.

What stays on your device

This data is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData and the app's sandboxed file system. It is not transmitted to us.

What leaves your device

To generate a song, Hum sends the text prompt built from your inputs (style, moment, name, age, instrumentation, constraints) to ElevenLabs, our music-generation provider. ElevenLabs returns the audio. Their privacy practices: elevenlabs.io/privacy.

To process subscription and in-app purchases, Hum uses RevenueCat alongside Apple's StoreKit. RevenueCat processes an anonymous user ID, your subscription/purchase events, and device info for receipt validation. Their privacy practices: revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple's StoreKit receives your App Store / Apple ID information only as part of the purchase flow, governed by Apple's privacy policy.

What we do not collect

Children

Hum is made for families and often involves details about children (names, birthdays). All of this data stays on the parent's device. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us that should be removed, contact us below and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because Hum's data lives on your device, you control it directly: delete a child, delete a song, or delete the app to remove everything. iCloud backup of the app's data follows Apple's standard device-backup behavior.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the effective date at the top and, for material changes, note the update in the app's release notes.
